This educational tour focuses on the maritime transportation history of the Kennebec River.Visit sites of current & former lighthouses and aids to navigation, steamboat & ferry landings, shipyards, bridges, canals, tidal mills and boys and girls camps. Relive the romantic days of “Rusticating” as we cruise through areas that have not changed in over 100 years, experience places like Hell Gates and beautiful Brookings Bay. The sites we will visit will be between Phippsburg and Richmond on the Kennebec as well as a few sites on the Sasanoa River, Burnt Jacket Strait, and Merrymeeting Bay.Our knowledgeable Captain will share a mixture local facts, folklore and legend, as well as some “then and now” pictures during the trip.A detailed illustrated trip guide will be available to be downloaded from our website or can be emailed as a PDF file after the tour. This cruise is 2 and 1/2 hours long and the cost is $300.00 for up to 6 Passengers. An optional mid-trip lunch or dinner stop is available at an additional cost.
