In collaboration with Embark Maine Tours, your experience begins with a guided walk through historic downtown Bath—one of New England’s best-preserved 19th-century districts. Stroll along brick sidewalks, admire period architecture, and uncover over 400 years of local history.
Then, join River Run Tours for a private cruise on the Kennebec River. Take in views of Bath Iron Works and watch for lighthouses, seals, and coastal wildlife as your captain leads a memorable adventure on the water.
Cruise from Bath along the Kennebec River through the Sasanoa and Sheepscot Rivers. Visit seals at Middle Mark Island, pass Isle of Springs and Sawyer Island, transit Townsend Gut, and circle Boothbay Harbor. Return via Five Islands and the scenic Little Sheepscot, Sasanoa, and Back Rivers.
Enjoy lighthouse views, seaside picnics, and stunning coastal scenery. Departing Bath, cruise past Bath Iron Works into the Sasanoa River, then by Robinhood Marina before crossing the Sheepscot toward Boothbay and Burnt Island.
Step ashore to take in sweeping views of Boothbay Harbor and the iconic Burnt Island Lighthouse—perfect for exploring, relaxing, and photos.
Note: A short 5-minute walk along a gravel path leads from the dock. Public restrooms are available.
Set out by boat to the renowned Eros Oyster Farm in Riggs Cove on Georgetown Island for a truly authentic Maine coastal experience. Travel through scenic waters as you make your way to this working oyster farm, where you’ll get an up-close look at how some of the region’s finest oysters are grown and harvested.
Once there, enjoy the rare opportunity to select oysters directly from the source—so fresh they’re still just steps from the tide that raised them.
Leaving Bath, we get a glimpse of shipbuilding at Bath Iron Works. From there, you’ll travel along the scenic Sasanoa River, passing through the dramatic Upper Hell Gate and Lower Hell Gate before reaching Nubble Bay.
The journey continues to Riggs Cove, home to the charming Robinhood Marina, where a variety of boats rests at anchor. After a brief passage through Goose Rocks, you’ll enter the Sheepscot River and pass Middle Mark Island—a great spot to watch for seals.
Departing Bath, we set out on a coastal journey past historic lighthouses, shipbuilding at Bath Iron Works, and the Maine Maritime Museum. From there, the route winds into the Sasanoa River, through Hockomock Bay, and along the Sheepscot River.
Along the way, keep watch for seals near Middle Mark Island and take in sweeping views of the Five Islands as you travel through some of Maine’s most picturesque and wildlife-rich waters.
On this tour, you’ll pass a stunning collection of historic Maine lighthouses, including Doubling Point Light, the Kennebec Range Lights, Squirrel Point Light, Perkins Island Light, and Pond Island Light—each offering a glimpse into the region’s rich maritime heritage.
Want to see more? Weather and sea conditions permitting, extend your adventure by 60 minutes to visit the iconic Seguin Lighthouse. This additional extended option is available for $160.00 or $480 total.
What better way to end the day than with a Sunset or Evening Cruise? Pack your favorite beverages and snacks, sit back, and relax as you take in Maine’s coastal beauty from the water.
Any of our tours can be experienced at sunset, but the views over Merrymeeting Bay are truly spectacular—offering a peaceful, unforgettable backdrop as the day winds down.
This full-day, 8-hour tour (1-hour lunch break) expands on our popular Lights & Sights experience. In addition to the historic Kennebec River lighthouses, you’ll also see the iconic Seguin Light, Cuckolds Light, Ram Island Light, Burnt Island Light, and Hendricks Head Light— an unforgettable journey through some of Maine’s most storied coastal landmarks. A blend of history, scenery, and open-water adventure, this extended tour showcases the very best of the region’s lighthouse heritage.
